Audience Research

The research I did about my audience was based on a selection of people from the age of 16 to the age of 50.
I found out that the crime genre is mostly favored by males that are aged between 16 and 30. This is my target audience. I also found out that a large proportion of people stream or download films from the internet rather then buy a DVD or go to the cinema. This is an important factor because most films when they're being streamed or downloaded it is being done illegally. So to stop this from happening the distribution company would have to provide a service that streams the film for a low price and if someone wants to download it they have to pay slightly extra. Even though the majority of the people I surveyed used the internet in some way to watch films the next most popular way was to watch them in the cinema so this means that people still enjoy going out to see films before they are released on DVD or onto the internet. Over half of the people questioned in this survey said that they would look for a well know actor in a film or someone who they had heard of or would recognize. This is because it would show how good the film is.
From my audience research I know that my audience is going to be male of a an age varying between 16 - 30. I also know that if this was going to be released that I would have to be able to put it onto the internet available for streaming and downloading too.
